Welding Competition Site
To promote the spirit of craftsmanship and enhance the professional skills of its employees, Qingdao Haodebor Industrial Co., Ltd. successfully held a Welding Skills Competition on April 16, 2014. Welding experts from various project departments and production workshops gathered together, using welding torches as pens and steel pipes as paper, to engage in an impressive contest of skill and willpower.
Practical Competition, Close to Production
At 9:00 a.m., the competition officially began with the command of the chief judge. Closely aligned with the company's business operations, this competition featured two categories: manual arc welding and argon arc welding. Participants were required to complete fixed-position pipe welding within a specified time. The judging panel conducted comprehensive scoring based on several criteria, including weld appearance dimensions, internal inspection quality, operation duration, and adherence to safety regulations.
The competition site was filled with the flash of arcs and flying sparks. Wearing protective masks and holding their welding torches, the participants focused intently on welding their test pieces. Some meticulously adjusted current parameters, while others steadily controlled the torch angle, demonstrating solid fundamental skills and proficient technique in their work.
Promoting Learning Through Competition, Exchanging Ideas for Progress
After fierce competition, the first, second, and third prizes were ultimately awarded. The winning participants earned unanimous recognition from the judges for their aesthetically pleasing welds and flawlessly passed internal inspections. One of the award winners shared after the competition: "The competition tests not only your composure but also the accumulation of your daily practice. Being able to compete with so many skilled experts is itself a valuable learning opportunity."
During the closing ceremony, company leaders presented awards to the winners and encouraged all employees, stating: "Welding quality is the lifeline of pipeline engineering. I hope everyone will bring the rigor and dedication shown in this competition back to their workstations and, with every weld you make, help solidify the company's reputation for quality."
This skills competition not only provided a platform for frontline welders to showcase their talents and exchange skills but also fostered a strong atmosphere within the company of "learning skills, honing abilities, and strengthening capabilities."
