Butt-welded Joint

Basic definition: Butt weld connection is a connection method in which the end face (or bevel face) of the pipe is directly aligned and the base material and welding material are fused together to form a continuous metal fusion zone through processes such as gas metal arc welding, submerged arc welding or argon arc welding. It is also known as bevel weld and is one of the strongest load-bearing connection forms in pressure pipelines and steel structures.

Flanged Joint

Basic Definition: Flange connection is a mechanical connection method that uses pre-fabricated flanges on the pipe ends, along with bolts and gaskets, to connect pipes. Plastic-coated steel pipes often employ a "pre-welded flange + post-coating" process to avoid damage to the anti-corrosion coating caused by welding.

Socket Connection

Basic Definition: Socket connection is a specialized flexible connection method for plastic-coated steel pipes. It involves interlocking pre-fabricated "sockets (with grooves)" and "spigots (with adaptable protrusions)" at the pipe ends, relying on a rubber sealing ring for sealing, without damaging the internal or external anti-corrosion coating of the pipe.

Press-fit Connection

Basic Definition: Press-fit connections use specialized crimping tools to radially press the socket portions of pipes and fittings together, creating a tight seal. This, combined with an O-ring seal, achieves a secure connection. This method is widely used in thin-walled metal piping systems.

Double-sealed Connection

A double-seal connection is a connection method that achieves pipe interface protection through two independent sealing structures. The inner seal blocks media penetration, while the outer seal provides secondary protection. Common forms include double-seal ring compression fitting, double-seal flanges, and rubber ring + electrofusion double seals.
